The suggestion to change the classification of Cannabis from a Schedule I Controlled substance (along with heroin and LSD) to a Schedule III Controlled substance is the first step toward acknowledging the benefits of Cannabis, permitting more robust and meaningful research and perhaps more importantly begin the process to right so many legal wrongs which have unfairly punished Cannabis users.
